Jongdae “JD” Kim

Co-Founder / Executive Director

Jongdae Kim was born in the U.S. due to his family who then were political refugees from South Korea. Living in an evermore pluralizing world, he co-founded Re'Generation Movement with a mission to make society a more welcoming and integrated place for diverse groups of people. By educating diasporic youths with refugee or immigrant experiences and creating rooms for conversations on peace, he plants small seeds that hopefully will bloom as a more hospitable society. Recently, he translated Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis into Korean to help the Korean churches as they try to figure out their role in the current refugee crisis.

Previously, Kim worked as a program coordinator for the Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives / The Halle Institute at Emory University, where he also received his MBA degree and B.A in Sociology. He also serves as an advisory board member at Friends of Refugees.
